Residential Security Consultations

Because of the interest shown by our residents and as an additional precautionary measure, your Chief of Security  Anthony Giammarino (pictured on the left)provides individual residential security consultations. These consultations involve a thorough review of the vulnerability of your property to intrusions and suggestions to lessen this vulnerability. Be Proactive - Don't Become A Victim - Lock your doors and windows, leave lights on and use your alarm system. A security checklist is available from our Security Department. Please call 734-2918 to request a copy.

During the evening, from sunset to sunrise, and at other times as Village Security needs dictates, the outer entry lane will be closed to incoming traffic and the inner lane only will be used for entry. Upon entry, the security officer shall visually identify the vehicle occupant(s) before opening the gate. The exit gate operates automatically and can be controlled manually by the security officer.

Advanced notification of guests, preferably through the voice authorization system, will make the process of granting visitor access speedy and more reliable. Residents who desire to authorize guests and visitors by speaking directly with a Security Officer may still do so by calling 734-2918. The voice authorization system recognizes the resident via caller ID and prompts him or her to enter the necessary information.

(Please note: Residents may access the voice authorization system from a phone other than their primary home phone; the system will confirm identity by asking for the resident's PIN code. Please contact Administration or Security should you need to confirm your PIN code.)

This information is automatically entered into the resident's file in the computer and stored until the date of entry authorization for the guest. When the guest or visitor arrives at the gate, the Security Officer simply confirms the authorization and ushers the guest through. Call 734-7705 for computer voice authorization.

Access to your property, including the issuance of keys by Village Security, is only granted to those persons specifically authorized, in writing, by you. In case of an immediate EMERGENCY, the Village Manager and the Chief of Security will make an entry for inspection.

Please advise Village Security when you plan to be absent from your residence, and your expected date of return for special exterior security checks of your property. Don't forget to cancel newspaper subscriptions.

Please drive carefully, for your safety and the safety of others please observe the posted speed limit of 25 miles per hour. Due to the congestion between the Post Office and the Country Club entrances, we ask that you please practice extra caution in these areas. Caution your family, guests, and visitors to observe the speed limit as well. If you are enjoying the weather and walking, bike riding or rollerblading, please remember to wear light colored clothing, preferably white, so you will be visible to traffic, especially at sunrise or sunset.
